SMARTCHIP™ REAL-TIME PCR SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The Chip
The chip contains a 5184 nanowell array (72 X 72) which is preloaded with primer content optimized for performance with the SmartChip System. Each well contains approximately 100 nl of reaction mix.
The Dispenser
Sample in master mix is dispensed under vacuum in a specially-designed fixture and vacuum chamber. 500 ng of sample is applied yielding 96 pg of sample in each of the 5184 wells. Designs for multiple sample dispensing are currently being tested.
The Cycler
The dispensed chip is placed into the specially-designed WaferGen SmartChip Cycler and subjected to Real- Time PCR and amplicon melting analyses. Data in the form of Ct (threshhold cycles) and Tm (melting temperatures) are downloaded and analyzed.
